From Troutdale to Mhlosheni

Karen Blixen once wrote: "I Know a song of Africa, but does Africa know a song of me?"

This blog tells the story of a small community church and its journeys to Africa to learn the "song" of Mhlosheni: an impoverished, hungry, AIDS-ravaged district in Swaziland... and our beacon of hope.

The people of Mhlosheni are our partners in Side By Side, a program reaching across communities and continents to bind all people in God's great dream.

Join us as we discover the rhythms and words and notes of Mhlosheni's song, and make it an anthem for this dream of hope.

The CRCC - Swaziland journeys are done through World Vision's Church-to-Community (C2C) program and will take place in November 2007, April 2009, 2011, and 2012. Each trip consists of 6-8 members of the church and lasts about 2 weeks.

The goal of each visit is to foster church unity in the Mhlosheni area development project, to make lasting connections, and to learn from one another.

In other words, to share.
